The KCPD's Trail of Heroes memorializes those departmemt members who have spent their lives protecting their community.  The first section of the Trail is dedicated to those police officers who have died in the line of duty, while the second section is dedicated to those department employees that have died while off-duty or after retirement.  It is a beautiful and peaceful place, where visitors can enjoy nature while turning their thoughts to those who spend, and sometimes sacrifice, their lives in order to Serve and Protect.

The Trail of heroes features a little over a mile of walking trail, a lake and wetland area, a beautiful little pond, a picnic area, and wonderful scenery almost everywhere you look.  Its an amazing place for a walk, an outing with your family, or just some quiet time outdoors.  Members of the public are welcome to visit and use the Trail of Heroes.  There are memorial benches along the Trail, dedicated to specific police officers and department employees.  Please, read the dedication plaques, have a seat, and enjoy the Trail.
